Incident Overview

In a shocking incident in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, a young man summoned for questioning in connection with the kidnapping of a minor girl attempted suicide by slashing his throat with a sharp object on Sunday.


According to a police official, the incident came to light when the girl's father filed a complaint regarding her abduction, leading to the registration of a case against unidentified individuals.


Superintendent of Police Omveer Singh reported that the 15-year-old girl had gone to the police station with her mother on Saturday, where she identified a man named Raja Khan as her abductor.


Details of the Attempt

The police had called Raja Khan in for questioning regarding the case. On Sunday, while at the police station, he inflicted a serious injury on himself.


Following the incident, he was immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment. Additional Superintendent of Police Kripa Shankar confirmed that an investigation into the matter has been initiated.


The inquiry has been assigned to Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Mohammad Usman.
