Murder Investigation in Jharkhand
In a shocking incident in the Saraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand, a 60-year-old woman was brutally murdered, with her head severed, following a dispute over fishing rights. Authorities have detained a teenager and arrested three others in connection with this heinous crime, as confirmed by a police official.
According to the officer, the suspects admitted to assaulting the woman during an argument over fishing in a local reservoir, which ultimately led to her death.
Following the attack, the perpetrators decapitated the victim and discarded her head approximately two kilometers away to mislead the police. Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat reported that on June 3, the torso of a woman was discovered on the railway tracks between Bhalukpahadi and Bhaduagora villages in the Kandra police station area.
The SP stated that during the investigation, police apprehended three suspects based on evidence gathered from local residents and the department's technical unit, while another individual was taken into custody.
Lunayat revealed that the suspects claimed the victim, Mainu Majhiyan, had a confrontation with them regarding fishing in a reservoir typically used by women for bathing. The assailants attacked her, resulting in her death. Based on the information provided by the suspects, police recovered the woman's head from the forest, while the axe used in the crime was found atop a hill.
