Technical Issues Disrupt Flight Operations at Mumbai Airport
Flight Operations Impacted by Technical Glitch
On Saturday, flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai faced disruptions due to a technical issue in a third-party data network. This malfunction halted the check-in system, leading to delays for multiple airlines, including Air India.
In light of these delays, several airlines have issued advisories to their passengers. Air India confirmed that while the technical issue has been resolved, some flights may still experience lingering effects.
Additionally, in response to inquiries from passengers, the airport management (CSMIA) stated that they have promptly implemented necessary alternative measures to address the situation, according to reports.
Air India communicated via its X account, stating, "A third-party data network outage affected check-in systems at Mumbai airport, resulting in delayed departures for various airlines, including Air India. The systems have been restored, but some flights may still be impacted as we work towards normalizing operations."
Mumbai Airport also updated on their X handle, saying, "We are currently experiencing a network failure across the airport. Contingency plans have been activated, and we are collaborating with our core team to resolve the issue. We are operating in manual mode to reduce disruptions and appreciate your patience during this time. Team CSMIA."
