Technical Glitches Plague OSSC CGL Exam Applicants in Odisha: Urgent Action Needed!
Concerns Raised Over OSSC CGL Application Issues
Bhubaneswar: Candidates applying for the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination have reached out to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the OSSC chairman, requesting intervention due to significant technical issues faced during the online application process.
Aspirant Sunil Kumar Mishra reported that the OSSC CGL application portal has been plagued by persistent technical difficulties, such as failures in website loading, login issues, challenges in document uploads, and interruptions during the submission of forms. These complications have reportedly hindered many eligible candidates from finalizing their applications before the deadline.
One of the primary concerns highlighted by applicants is the deduction of the Rs 500 application fee from their bank accounts, even when the application process was incomplete or unsuccessful due to portal errors. Candidates assert that despite receiving payment confirmations, their applications were not submitted, leading to financial losses and considerable mental stress, particularly among unemployed individuals.
Another candidate, Subhrajit Sahoo, emphasized the lack of an ‘edit’ or ‘correction’ feature on the application portal, which complicates the process of correcting unintentional errors—some of which stemmed from system malfunctions rather than applicant mistakes.
In a formal representation to the authorities, candidates have called for an urgent resolution of these technical issues, the implementation of an edit/correction option, and an extension of the application deadline to promote fairness and equal opportunity. They have also requested appropriate measures for the reimbursement or adjustment of fees deducted due to unsuccessful submissions.
Thousands of candidates statewide are reportedly impacted by these challenges and are looking for prompt action from the government and OSSC to ensure that deserving applicants are not left out of the recruitment process.
