A message at Varanasi Airport indicated that Microsoft Windows was experiencing widespread service disruptions globally, affecting IT services and check-in systems at airports. A video from Hyderabad Airport showed passengers crowding around the boarding gate and discussing the issue with ground staff. The message also noted that airlines had reverted to manual check-in and boarding processes. At least four airlines, including Indigo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and Air India Express, were impacted. Neither Microsoft nor the airlines provided immediate comments on the situation.
At 7:40 AM, a post from the airport authority mentioned that some domestic airlines were facing operational challenges, which could lead to delays or scheduling issues. They assured that on-ground teams were collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth experience for travelers.
Air India Addresses Flight Operation Issues
Late Tuesday night, a technical glitch in a third-party system disrupted the check-in process at several airports, causing delays for multiple airlines. Air India later confirmed that the issue had been fully resolved and operations had returned to normal. The airline posted on social media that the system was restored and check-in was proceeding smoothly at all airports. They also thanked passengers for their understanding and advised them to check their flight status before traveling and to arrive at the airport on time, as the check-in process was taking longer than usual.
