Technical Glitch Causes Delay at Raipur Airport for Indigo Flight

Incident at Raipur Airport
A significant commotion occurred at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur on Wednesday afternoon when an Indigo flight arriving from Delhi experienced a technical malfunction. After landing safely at 2:25 PM, the aircraft's door remained closed for approximately 40 minutes, trapping numerous passengers, including several VIPs, inside.
Among those on board were former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel, MLA Chaturi Nand, and Raipur Mayor Meenal Chaubey.
Details of the Technical Issue
The flight, designated 6E 6312, encountered a technical issue during its landing phase. The main exit door failed to open post-landing, and the cabin screen, linked to the door mechanism, reportedly displayed no signals, making it impossible to open the door immediately. This situation led to confusion among passengers and necessitated a brief emergency response at the airport.
Official Statements
Former Chief Minister Baghel later confirmed the incident, stating, "There was a technical issue with the door. After about half an hour of effort, the door was finally opened, and all passengers were safely disembarked." Mayor Meenal Chaubey added that while the landing was smooth, the flight crew did not receive a signal from the pilot to open the door due to the system malfunction, which resulted in the crew waiting for confirmation before taking any action.
