The accused, identified as Devendra Patel, 27, allegedly intimidated the minor over a month at his coaching center, repeatedly subjecting her to sexual abuse.


Victim's Revelation

The situation came to light on Thursday when the girl refused to attend the coaching center. When her mother inquired about her reluctance, the girl broke down and disclosed the abuse.


Family's Action

According to Yogesh Kumar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), the family filed a complaint at the Kidwai Nagar police station. The victim's father, a resident of Babupurwa, stated that his daughter attends a school in Kidwai Nagar where the accused also teaches.

Kumar noted that Patel operates a private coaching center named 'Bright Coaching Institute,' where the victim was enrolled. The victim claims that in December 2025, Patel lured her to the center and assaulted her.

It is alleged that when the victim resisted, Patel threatened to harm her parents and younger brother, instilling significant fear in her. She reported that he continued to abuse her under the threat of violence.


Legal Proceedings

Dharmendra Kumar, the station officer of Kidwai Nagar, stated that a case has been registered against Devendra Patel under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused has been apprehended, and the victim has been referred for a medical examination.
