Teacher Accused of Multiple Instances of Misconduct with 12-Year-Old Student

Allegations Against Teacher in Mumbai
A teacher has been charged with multiple instances of inappropriate behavior towards a 12-year-old student within the classroom. This information was confirmed by a police official from Mumbai on Friday.
According to an officer from the Samta Nagar police station, the 40-year-old teacher was reported to have inappropriately touched the sixth-grade girl during class. The situation came to light when the child confided in her family about her experiences.
The officer stated, 'A case was registered against the teacher on Thursday. The complaint alleges that he would touch her inappropriately under the pretext of holding her hand or punishing her.'
It has been reported that the teacher is facing charges under Section 74 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which pertain to sexual harassment.
