Last year, in August 2025, Tata Punch recorded sales of 10,704 units. This year, the figure skyrocketed to 21,320 units, marking an impressive annual growth of approximately 99.2%.
This stellar performance allowed Punch to outpace the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which sold 20,180 units in August. The Maruti Swift followed closely with 19,832 units sold, securing the third position.
Affordability and Safety Features Stand Out
The starting price of the 2026 Tata Punch was around ₹5.59 lakh at launch, with current listings showing a starting price of approximately ₹5.75 lakh. Thus, it is reasonable to consider ₹5.70 lakh as a near-accurate starting price.
In terms of safety, the Punch boasts a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and is equipped with 6 airbags. Additionally, it includes various modern safety and technology features, enhancing its appeal.
Fronx and Nexon Fall Behind
In August, the sales figures for the Maruti Fronx and Tata Nexon were 18,730 units and 18,431 units, respectively. This indicates that Punch has successfully surpassed both of these popular SUV models in sales.
