Tata Motors Unveils Ambitious Plans for New Vehicle Launches by 2030
Tata's Bold Strategy Amid Market Challenges
In response to a declining market presence, Tata Motors has initiated an extensive product launch strategy set to continue until 2030. This announcement follows Hyundai's recent unveiling of its own new models. Tata aims to introduce 30 product updates by the end of the decade, which will include facelifts for existing vehicles and the introduction of seven entirely new models. By 2030, the company plans to expand its lineup from the current eight models to a total of 15.
Additionally, a report indicates that Tata Motors plans to invest approximately Rs 33,000 to 35,000 crore from the fiscal year 2026 to 2030. The company is set to focus on enhancing its product range with innovations such as Software-Defined Vehicles and advanced powertrains.
Upcoming Models and Innovations
Among the 30 new models, 23 will be cosmetic updates to current vehicles, including a next-generation Nexon, a facelift for the ICE-powered Punch, and a petrol variant for both the Harrier and Safari.
The seven new nameplates expected by 2030 will feature a revamped Sierra in both ICE and electric versions, along with the Avinya and Avinya X Concept. Furthermore, Tata has committed to launching two additional electric vehicles and two new ICE models, all of which are reported to be SUVs.
Tata Motors aims to capture a 16% market share by the fiscal year 2027, with electric vehicles projected to account for nearly 20% of its total passenger vehicle sales by the end of FY2027, and further growth anticipated by FY2030.
