Ottawa, October 9: A young man, aged 23 and originally from Punjab, lost his life outside a commercial complex in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Authorities suspect this incident may have been a targeted attack. Investigators are looking into a potential link between the shooting and a vehicle that was later found on fire.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) received reports of gunfire around 9:45 PM local time on October 5, prompting officers to respond to the 6,000 block of 200 Street, as reported by Khalsa Vox.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the injured man in the parking lot of a nearby business complex at the intersection of 200 Street and 60 Avenue. Despite efforts by emergency personnel to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities have not disclosed the victim's identity, although he was known to reside in Langley and had ties to Punjab.
Approximately 20 minutes after the shooting, police were notified of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames near 232 Street and 75 Avenue. Investigators suspect that this burnt sedan may be connected to the shooting incident, according to reports from Khalsa Vox.
Authorities are examining whether the vehicle was deliberately set ablaze to eliminate evidence or obscure the movements of the assailants. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is collaborating with the Integrated Forensic Identification Services, Langley RCMP, and the British Columbia Coroners Service to conduct the investigation, as noted by Khalsa Vox.
Initial findings suggest that the victim may have been specifically targeted. While there are indications of possible gang involvement, investigators have not confirmed any such connections publicly. As of now, no suspects have been identified or apprehended by the police.
