Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Advocates for Development in Tamil Nadu

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of Delhi expressed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, the nation is making significant strides. Speaking at an event in Coimbatore, she emphasized that Tamil Nadu is eager to join this path of development. Gupta accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government of engaging in corruption and failing to serve the public effectively.

Gupta reiterated that the entire country is progressing under Modi's leadership, and Tamil Nadu wishes to keep pace with this advancement. She criticized the DMK government for allegedly exploiting the people of Tamil Nadu and stated that the populace is now yearning for change and development. Earlier that day, Prime Minister Modi conducted a roadshow in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district, accompanied by Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

During the roadshow, Modi also paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Meanwhile, BJP leader K. Annamalai expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning, suggesting that Edappadi K. Palaniswami has a strong chance of becoming the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He noted that there is considerable support for the NDA across Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu, with the public eager for a change from the DMK government. Annamalai highlighted the strong backing for the AIADMK's K.R. Jayaram in Singanallur, where he has gained the trust of the electorate.

Voting in Tamil Nadu is scheduled for April 23, with counting set for May. The main contest is expected to be between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, which includes the Indian National Congress, DMDK, and VCK, and the NDA led by AIADMK, which includes BJP and PMK as allies. Additionally, actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to enter the electoral fray with his party TVK, potentially making the contest a triangular one.
