Inauguration of the Flyover

On Sunday, Chief Minister MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the Veeramangai Velu Nachiyar Flyover in Madurai. He emphasized that his administration is focused on development-oriented politics, contrasting it with the divisive politics practiced by other parties.


Stalin asserted that divisive politics would not thrive on the land of Periyar.


Historical Significance of Velu Nachiyar

Velu Nachiyar, the queen of Shivaganga in the 18th century, is recognized as the first Indian queen to wage war against the East India Company following the assassination of her husband in 1772.


Celebrating Dravidian Model Governance

During an event celebrating the Dravidian model of governance, CM Stalin reiterated that divisive politics would be defeated, as the spirit ignited by Periyar continues to burn brightly in Tamil Nadu.


He stated, 'The lamp of equality lit by Periyar in Tamil Nadu will always shine. There will always be someone to protest and question; the fire ignited by Periyar is within us.'
