CM MK Stalin's Strong Stance on Minority Safety

On Thursday, MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, expressed that assaults on minority communities are intolerable and emphasized that controlling rioters is a collective and essential responsibility that must be enforced with determination.

The General Secretary of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), Vaiko, along with Vijay, who transitioned from acting to politics, leading the Tamilga Vetrik Kazhagam (TVK), also condemned the alleged attacks targeting Christian worship places.

Stalin remarked that the true strength and character of the majority lie in allowing minorities to live without fear.

In a social media post, he stated, 'When some right-wing violent groups attack and riot in the name of being a majority, especially during a time when the Prime Minister is participating in Christmas celebrations, it sends a troubling message to the nation.'

He pointed out that following the incidents in Manipur, reports of attacks on minorities in Jabalpur, Raipur, and other locations are unacceptable for anyone who values harmony.

Thus, he reiterated that it is a shared and necessary duty to curb the rioters who divide society, which must be implemented with resolve.

The Chief Minister claimed that since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power at the center, there has been a reported 74% increase in hate speeches against minorities, indicating a 'serious threat.'

Vaiko condemned the 'Hindutva mob' targeting churches and Christians in places like Raipur and Jabalpur, urging the respective state governments to take strict action against those spreading violence.

K.G. Arunraj, the publicity secretary of TVK, also condemned the alleged attacks on churches and called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to denounce these acts and ensure the safety of minorities.
