Early Election Trends in Tamil Nadu

As the counting of votes for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026 progresses, Vijay, who transitioned from actor to politician, is meeting expectations with his party, the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). The party is currently leading significantly over AIADMK and DMK in 81 constituencies, marking a remarkable start in a state traditionally dominated by Dravidian parties. The initial trends from the 234 assembly constituencies indicate that the election is no longer just a contest between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
