Tamil Nadu Class 12 Exam Results Released

On Friday, the Tamil Nadu School Education Department revealed the results for the Class 12 (HSC) board examinations. This year, the overall pass percentage for the state stands at 95.03%, reflecting a slight increase of 0.17% compared to last year's figures. An analysis of the results indicates that the educational standards in the state remain stable, with improvements noted in both government and private school performances. The officials from the education department reported that Erode district achieved the highest pass percentage at 98.87%, followed closely by Shivaganga district with a pass rate of 98.05%.


Chennai, with a pass percentage of 95.43%, ranked 20th in the state. Notably, girls outperformed boys this year, achieving a pass rate of 97%, while boys recorded a pass percentage of only 93.19%. Officials noted that out of the 7,536 higher secondary schools in the state, 2,639 private schools and 489 government schools achieved a 100% pass rate.


A total of 791,654 students sat for the examinations, with 753,694 successfully passing. The science stream recorded a pass percentage of 96.90%, while commerce students had a pass rate of 92.67%.
