A Collaborative Effort for Future-Ready Talent


Bhubaneswar: The Trident Academy of Technology (TAT), in partnership with the Odisha Private Engineering Colleges Association (OPECA), organized the Talent Development Conclave 2025 on Saturday. The central theme of the event was "Striking a Synergy between Academia and Industry: Fostering the Right Talent to Develop a Future-Ready Workforce."


This gathering aimed to unite essential players from academia, industry, and government to tackle the increasing talent gap and improve the readiness of graduates for the workforce.


Sampad Chandra Swain, the Skill Development & Technical Education Minister, who was the chief guest, highlighted the critical role of skill development in achieving Odisha’s industrial aspirations and enhancing collaboration between academia and industry.


Bijay Sahoo, Group President – Strategic HR at Reliance Industries Ltd, who served as the guest of honour, stressed the necessity of cultivating adaptable and trainable professionals, advocating for academic frameworks that can quickly adjust to the changing demands of the industry.


The conclave commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting and a welcome address by TAT principal Prof DN Pattanayak. Dean of the School of Business, PK Mohanty, introduced the main themes of the event. Four panel discussions featured prominent academicians and industry leaders from firms such as Infosys, HCL Tech, Tata Electronics, Ericsson, and Comviva.


The discussions underscored the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in enhancing educational infrastructure and the importance of fostering innovation, inclusivity, and equitable regional recruitment.


Ayana Gupta from Comviva remarked, "We hire for attitude and train for skill," reflecting a shift in the hiring approach. The event wrapped up with the recognition of guests, closing remarks by Mohini P Mishra, Head of the Department of CSE–Data Science, and a networking lunch aimed at promoting future collaborations.
