T20 Tri-Series Set for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and UAE Ahead of Asia Cup 2025
Upcoming T20 Tri-Series Featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and UAE
Preparations are in full swing for the Asia Cup 2025, with Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UAE gearing up for a T20 Tri-series hosted by the Emirates Cricket Board in Sharjah. This tournament is slated for late August and early September.
This tri-nation event will act as a crucial preparatory stage for the Asia Cup 2025. Initially, the ICC's Future Tours Programme indicated that Pakistan would host Afghanistan for a three-match T20I series. However, this has now been transformed into a tri-nation tournament. Each team will compete against the others twice in a round-robin format, culminating in a final between the top two teams. Matches are scheduled to kick off at 7 PM local time.
Asia Cup Scheduled to Commence on September 9
In the current T20I rankings, Pakistan holds the 8th position, followed closely by Afghanistan at 9th and the UAE at 14th. Pakistan is presently engaged in a white-ball series against the West Indies, having already secured victory in the first match. The Asia Cup 2025 is set to take place from September 9 to 28, featuring eight competing teams.
