Swarnnagari Express Launches with Enthusiasm from Jaisalmer
Inauguration of Swarnnagari Express
The Swarnnagari Express, connecting Jaisalmer to the heart of the nation, Delhi, departed from Jaisalmer Railway Station on Tuesday at 5 PM amidst a vibrant atmosphere. This train was inaugurated on November 29 by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Following its launch, the train made its first commercial journey from Shakur Basti (Delhi) on the 1st of this month, arriving in Jaisalmer on schedule.
Passengers Excited for Their First Journey
As the train set off for its return journey at 5 PM, the excitement was palpable on the faces of the passengers experiencing their inaugural ride. A team from a local media outlet arrived at the station to assess the situation before the train's departure. Passengers in both AC and sleeper coaches appeared relaxed and content. Rupchand, a traveler heading to Jaipur with two companions, expressed that this train is perfectly timed for all communities, including traders, to reach Jodhpur, Jaipur, or Delhi. The service has been eagerly awaited for several years. Notably, before the pandemic, an intercity train that later became known as the Runicha Express used to operate between Jaisalmer and Delhi.
Train Schedule and Features
Train number 12249 will depart daily from Shakur Basti, Delhi at 5:10 PM, arriving in Jodhpur at 3:40 AM the next day. It will leave Jodhpur at 4 AM and reach Jaisalmer by 9 AM. Conversely, the Swarnnagari Express, train number 12250, will leave Jaisalmer daily at 5 PM, arriving in Jodhpur at 9:50 PM, and will depart again at 10:20 PM after a 30-minute stop. This express train will halt at 18 stations along the route, including Delhi Cantt, Gurgaon, Rewari, Alwar, Dausa, Jaipur, Phulera, Nawa City, Kuchaman City, Makrana, Degana, Medta Road, Jodhpur, Osian, Marwar Lohawat, Phalodi, Ramdevra, and Aashapura Gomti. The train features a modern LHB rake with a total of 16 coaches, including 1 First AC, 1 Second AC, 2 Third AC, 6 Sleeper Class, 4 General Coaches, 1 Power Car, and 1 Guard Brake Van.
