Inauguration of Swami Shukdevanand University

Swami Shukdevanand University, located in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, has officially commenced its operations. To ensure transparency from the outset, the university administration has appointed an ombudsman in the initial phase of its functioning. Additionally, the institution has made a significant announcement for the benefit of students, stating that every enrolled student will receive both accident and health insurance coverage.

Affiliation and Ombudsman Appointment

Dr. Pushpendra Bahadur Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, revealed that over 46 colleges in the district have been affiliated with Swami Shukdevanand University. To maintain transparency, Professor A.K. Sarkar has been designated as the ombudsman, responsible for addressing educational activities, fee-related issues, and other grievances across the university and its affiliated colleges. The Vice-Chancellor clarified that his position also falls under the ombudsman's jurisdiction, allowing for investigations into any complaints.

University Structure and Fee Structure

According to District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh, the university was established by integrating various educational institutions operating within the Mumukshu Ashram campus, which received university status on May 8. Currently, appointments for the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and Finance Officer have been completed. The university administration has set its course fees approximately 40% lower for general programs and about 20% lower for professional courses compared to other universities, keeping social responsibility in mind.

Insurance Coverage and Future Plans

Regarding the insurance coverage for students, the Vice-Chancellor mentioned that it includes medical facilities and financial assistance in case of emergencies. Furthermore, the university plans to introduce eight postgraduate professional courses in fields such as engineering, management, agriculture, and health sciences, along with foreign language programs. The university has also committed to adopting two nearby villages to enhance their educational systems and provide additional learning opportunities for children.
