Kolkata: Suvendu Adhikari, the newly appointed chief minister of West Bengal, expressed on Friday that the incoming BJP administration is committed to delivering on all pledges outlined in the party's election manifesto. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with the central government to meet the expectations of the populace.


Speaking to party legislators after his election as the leader of the BJP legislative assembly, Adhikari declared that the climate of fear in Bengal has dissipated, ushering in a period characterized by 'trust'.


He remarked, 'Fear is gone, and as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated, trust is here,' eliciting enthusiastic applause from party members and supporters.


Earlier that day, Adhikari was unanimously chosen as the leader of the BJP legislative party, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior party officials present, setting the stage for him to become West Bengal's first BJP chief minister.
