Shooting Incident in Chatra District

A suspect linked to a recent shooting incident in Gendra village, Chatra district of Jharkhand, has been apprehended. This tragic event resulted in the deaths of two individuals, as reported by local authorities on Tuesday.


Sumit Kumar Agarwal, the Superintendent of Police, informed reporters that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to probe the incident that occurred on December 29, which also left two others injured.


Agarwal stated that the SIT has arrested Mohan Ganjoo, a 20-year-old member of the banned outfit Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), from the Lawalong police station area in Chatra. Authorities also seized a homemade pistol from him.


The official claimed that the deceased were affiliated with the TPC. The Superintendent noted that the shooting stemmed from a feud between two groups, and a case has been registered at the Kunda police station. He added that efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the incident.
