Suruchi Singh, a gold medalist shooter at the 2026 Asian Games, expressed her joy over winning a medal for India. She aims to continue achieving success for her country, with the Olympics as a long-term aspiration. Suruchi, alongside her mixed doubles partner Kamaljeet, secured the gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.

Impressive Performance

The Indian pair scored a remarkable 484.6 points in the final, surpassing South Korea, which earned the silver with 478.0 points. Iran took home the bronze with 415.8 points, while Indonesia was eliminated with a score of 349.4 points.

A Heartfelt Message

After receiving a warm welcome at Delhi Airport on Sunday, Suruchi shared her happiness about winning a medal for her nation. She expressed her eagerness to achieve more in the future, emphasizing the importance of keeping the tricolor flying high. Suruchi dedicated her medals to her parents and coach, stating, "I feel great and was looking forward to winning a medal for the country. I want to keep winning medals and ensure our tricolor remains at the top. I also have the Olympics in my sights, taking it step by step."

Breaking Records

In addition to their gold medal, Suruchi and Kamaljeet set a new Asian record, previously held by Uzbekistan at 481.3 points during the Asian Shooting Championships in New Delhi earlier this year.
