Unexpected Cobra Encounter in Kushinagar
Kushinagar: A startling incident occurred in the village of Batesra, located in the Kasya block of Kushinagar, on Thursday. While workers were clearing bricks and mud in a house, they unexpectedly encountered a swarm of snakes. Among them was a cobra, and soon the number of snakes began to increase. The sight of 25 cobras in a single home sent shockwaves through the local community, drawing a crowd of villagers eager to witness the unusual event. The forest department was alerted about the situation.
Details of the Incident: This unusual occurrence took place at the residence of Shukurullah, son of Aleem. During construction work, a worker named Sahim spotted a large cobra and called others to inform them that more snakes were present. The villagers, alarmed by the discovery, notified the local head, Mohan Lal Gupta, who then contacted snake rescuer Shatrudhan Yadav. Upon arrival, the rescuer carefully removed bricks and mud to safely extract one large cobra along with 24 baby cobras. Following the rescue, all snakes were relocated to the forest.
Safe Release into the Wild: During the rescue operation, it was discovered that one large cobra had already died after being trapped under the bricks, while the rest were successfully saved and released into a safe forest area. The snake rescuer urged the villagers not to harm snakes if they encounter them in the future.
