Supriya Sule Critiques Thane's Development Amid Election Campaign
Concerns Over Thane's Urban Issues
Supriya Sule, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has criticized the ruling Maha Yuti government, asserting that despite Thane being portrayed as a 'civilized' city, it continues to face significant challenges such as water shortages and inadequate waste management facilities.
Speaking at an election rally on Saturday, which was organized to support candidates from the NCP and Shiv Sena (UBT) ahead of the municipal elections, Sule questioned the government's claims regarding the substantial funds allocated for Thane's development.
The event saw the presence of NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad, Manoj Pradhan, the president of the party's Thane city unit, along with other officials and a large gathering of party workers and supporters.
Sule remarked that Thane was once a small town that attracted people from various regions of the state and country seeking better living conditions and development opportunities. However, she noted that these aspirations have now turned into disappointment.
She emphasized that while Thane is labeled as a 'civilized' city, persistent issues related to water supply, waste management, and problems in education and healthcare remain unresolved.
