However, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta challenged the fundamental basis of the petition, arguing that it was filed by someone without the right to raise such issues. He stated that a public interest litigant, who has no connection to the Rohingyas, is making these requests. He urged the court not to consider this petition. After a brief hearing of the parties involved, the bench postponed the case, indicating it would revisit the matter on December 16.
