Supreme Court Addresses NEET Candidates' Concerns

New Delhi, August 4 - Six candidates who took the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical undergraduate courses have filed a petition in the Supreme Court, alleging discrepancies between their marked answers on the OMR sheets and the copies provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The petition was specifically mentioned before a bench led by Chief Justice Suryakant, requesting a hearing before the counseling process begins.

The lawyer representing the candidates informed the bench, which included Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohan, that the case involves six students who scored over 600 to 650 marks. They claim that the OMR sheet uploaded by the NTA does not match their recorded answers during the exam.

Additionally, the court was informed that the students had emailed the NTA and even visited their office, but received no response. Following this, the bench agreed to hear the candidates' petition. The NEET-UG 2026 exam was initially scheduled for May 3 but was canceled due to a question paper leak, leading to a rescheduled exam on June 21 by the NTA.
