Sunny Leone's New Year Event in Mathura Canceled Amid Protests
Cancellation of Sunny Leone's Event in Mathura
In Mathura, a planned New Year event featuring actress Sunny Leone at a local bar has been called off following opposition from religious leaders. The Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas also submitted a letter to the district magistrate requesting that the event not take place.
According to the event organizers, Sunny Leone was scheduled to perform as a DJ on January 1. Dinesh Falhari from the Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas stated, “We have written to the district magistrate. Lord Krishna performed his divine plays here. Saints come to worship at this site. Inviting Sunny Leone for an event here is an attempt by some to tarnish the reputation of Braj Bhoomi and Sanatan Dharma.”
In response to these objections, one of the event organizers and partner at 'The Trunk Bar', Mithul Pathak, mentioned, “Respecting the sentiments of local saints, we have decided to cancel Sunny Leone's event. We are refunding the ticket money.”
Pathak further added that misinformation has been spread about the event. Sunny was only coming to perform as a DJ, and entry was strictly through ticket purchase. He questioned why there is opposition to her performances in India if she is performing at various locations across the country.
