Tragic Loss of Sunjay Kapur

Sunjay Kapur, a well-known industrialist and former spouse of actress Karisma Kapoor, has died in London at the age of 53. His unexpected passing has left his friends and family in shock. The funeral service is scheduled to take place in Delhi today, following a delay caused by citizenship complications.


The cremation rites were conducted at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi, where Karisma and their children, Samaira and Kiaan, gathered to say their final goodbyes.


Karisma's sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan, was present to offer her support during this difficult time. A touching moment was captured in a video where Kareena is seen comforting Karisma as they left the funeral, both visibly emotional.


Photos from the event also showed Samaira and Kiaan embracing each other, with their mother Karisma standing close by. Saif Ali Khan was spotted in the background, providing additional family support.



A prayer meeting is set for June 22 at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi from 4 to 5 PM.


Earlier that day, Karisma was seen with her children at a private airport in Mumbai, heading to Delhi. Shortly after, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were also spotted making their way to Delhi to support the grieving family.


Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar and a significant figure in the automotive sector. He also held the position of Chairman for the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, overseeing operations in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and three Union Territories.


For context, Sunjay and Karisma were married in 2003 and had two children together. They divorced in 2016 but maintained a cooperative co-parenting relationship.
