Sundays on Cycle has expanded its reach nationwide, with cycling events held in approximately 700 districts, including challenging areas like Kargil, where participants braved temperatures as low as -10°C.


The initiative has attracted over 22 million participants across more than 181,000 locations in both urban and rural settings. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Nagaland to Gujarat, this movement has become a powerful symbol of national unity.


Community Support and Involvement

The first anniversary of Sundays on Cycle was celebrated nationwide, with a significant event in Puducherry led by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. The initiative has fostered a cycling culture, resulting in nearly 5,000 NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs. Individuals from various sectors, including students, educators, healthcare professionals, government workers, law enforcement, military personnel, and community groups, have actively participated. Notable figures such as The Great Khali, PR Sreejesh, and actors like Jackie Shroff and Rahul Bose have also joined, motivating more citizens to engage. Participation in National Sports Day 2025 soared to 30 million, a significant increase from 1 million previously.
