Sujata Raut Karthikeyan Joins BJD, Paving the Way for Women's Empowerment

On Thursday, Naveen Patnaik, the president of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), welcomed former IAS officer Sujata Raut Karthikeyan into the party. He emphasized that her extensive administrative background, particularly in women's welfare, will significantly enhance the party's efforts to serve the community. Speaking to the media, Patnaik noted that Karthikeyan has joined as a primary member of BJD and expressed confidence in her potential contributions towards women's empowerment and welfare.

 

Patnaik highlighted Karthikeyan's rich experience in handling women's issues within the state, stating that she has become a regular member of the party. He expressed his belief that her expertise will aid in supporting the community, especially women, as she takes on her new responsibilities. He also reiterated her leadership role within the party ahead of upcoming elections.

 

After joining BJD, Karthikeyan expressed her gratitude and eagerness to continue serving the people of Odisha under Patnaik's leadership. She mentioned feeling fortunate to have worked under Patnaik for 24 years during her administrative career and viewed her entry into politics as an opportunity to contribute to the state's development.

 

Karthikeyan stated, 'I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work under Naveen Patnaik's leadership for the past 24 years and serve the people of Odisha. Once again, I consider myself lucky to have this chance to work for the state under his guidance.' She further added that with the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the people of Odisha, she will continue to work with dedication and commitment for the welfare of the state and its residents.
