Successful Test of Drone-Launched Precision Guided Missile by DRDO
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has marked a significant achievement by successfully testing a precision-guided missile launched from a drone in Andhra Pradesh. This development, announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, is part of India's ongoing efforts to enhance its defence capabilities through advanced indigenous technologies. The ULPGM-V3 missile is designed for high-precision strikes and is one of three variants developed by DRDO. The successful trials at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) in Kurnool signify a major step forward in India's military technology.

DRDO Achieves Milestone with New Missile Test
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted a test of a precision-guided missile launched from a drone at a testing range in Andhra Pradesh. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced this achievement on Friday, stating that the trials took place in Kurnool. In a social media update, Singh highlighted that this successful test of the UAV Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM)-V3 at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) enhances India's defence capabilities.

According to media reports, the ULPGM has three variants: ULPGM V1, V2, and V3. The ULPGM-V3 missile is specifically designed for high-precision strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and is part of India's efforts to integrate advanced indigenous technologies into its defence arsenal. Meanwhile, the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) has developed several warhead variants for the ULPGM-V2, each tailored for different battlefield roles. These include an anti-personnel warhead designed to incapacitate soldiers and soft-skinned vehicles using pre-formed steel balls.

Additionally, the missile features a roof buster warhead, which is an explosively formed projectile (EFP) aimed at penetrating reinforced concrete roofs and neutralizing stationary targets. There is also an anti-armor/anti-tank warhead, designed with a conical charge to destroy heavily armored vehicles and main battle tanks (MBTs) from a top-attack mode.
