Baijnath (Himachal Pradesh): A prompt and organized rescue operation was launched in the remote Gurun Dhar region of Baijnath subdivision after a paragliding accident left two people stranded in a challenging mountainous area.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, the state government quickly mobilized a relief and rescue effort. Given the lack of road access to the crash site and the difficult terrain, helicopter assistance was immediately arranged to facilitate a swift evacuation.
Officials reported that Arun Singh, a pilot hailing from Rajasthan, suffered significant injuries in the incident. Another individual, Ranjan Gupta, was discovered trapped in a tree, complicating the rescue operation further.
A specialized aerial rescue mission, supported by the Indian Air Force, successfully extracted both individuals from the hard-to-reach area. The operation demanded precise aerial navigation and seamless coordination between ground teams and air support.
The injured parties were later transported to Vivekananda Hospital in Palampur, where they are currently receiving medical care. Healthcare professionals are closely observing their recovery.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu provided updates about the incident and the successful rescue on his official Facebook account, commending the quick actions of the involved agencies and expressing hopes for the injured's swift recovery.
This incident serves as a reminder of the inherent dangers associated with adventure sports in high-altitude areas and emphasizes the necessity for preparedness, rapid response capabilities, and strict adherence to safety measures.
