Today, a comprehensive mock drill focusing on disaster awareness and evacuation was successfully held at Government Arya College, Nurpur, as part of the Statewide Mega Mock Exercise–2026. This initiative aimed to prepare participants for potential earthquakes, cloudbursts, and forest fires, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur.
Involvement of NCC Cadets: The NCC cadets were instrumental in executing the drill, showcasing their skills in emergency response, safe evacuation techniques, and rescue operations. They guided both students and faculty along designated safe paths and educated them on precautionary measures to take during emergencies.
Principal’s Remarks: Dr. Thakur highlighted the importance of such drills in fostering disaster management awareness among students and staff, enhancing their capacity to react promptly and effectively in crisis situations. He praised the NCC cadets, faculty, and the organizing committee for their efforts in making the event a success.
Drill Objectives: The main goal of the exercise was to offer hands-on training for safe evacuation during disasters and to raise awareness about reducing disaster risks. The event concluded with all attendees committing to uphold disaster safety and vigilance.
