Beekeeping Training Camp Wraps Up
A five-day training camp focused on beekeeping, organized by the Bharmour Sub-Divisional Officer, successfully concluded on Tuesday. The event commenced on November 28 and was chaired by Dr. Pramod Shah from Chamba DDAH.
The initiative was facilitated by SMS Horticulture in Bharmour and attracted 50 participants. Experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chamba, along with speakers from various banks, provided essential technical insights and guidance throughout the sessions.
Dr. Manohar Lal, SMS from Bharmour, shared these details. During his address, Dr. Pramod Shah emphasized the importance of maintaining honey quality, urging adherence to FSSAI standards in production, processing, and marketing. He encouraged farmers to implement better quality practices and modern packaging methods to enhance the appeal of locally sourced honey.
Dr. Nidhi Rawat, SMS-Horticulture, pointed out the significance of increasing women's involvement in self-employment and horticulture activities.
Dr. Divya, HEO, motivated farmers to utilize weather-based crop insurance schemes to protect their income. Dr. Manohar also highlighted the historical relevance of beekeeping in Bharmour and outlined the training program's main objectives.
In the final session, Dr. Shah informed farmers about various government initiatives related to beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and other horticultural sectors.
