Students Submit New Delegation List to Jharkhand Government Amid Recruitment Exam Protests

New Delegation Formed for Ongoing Protests

Ranchi, August 7 - In response to alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, students protesting have presented a new list of ten members to the Jharkhand government on Friday. This delegation aims to engage in discussions with the government to address the ongoing issues.

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Reform Forum, leading the protests, submitted the revised list after raising objections to the previously proposed eleven-member delegation.

The former delegation included a lawyer and two technical experts. The newly formed group consists of student leaders such as Ravindra Paswan, Piyush Kumar, Rajesh Prasad, Neetu Kujur, Ankit Raj, Kartik Soren, Shalu Kumari, Ravindra Kumar Ravi, Anand Kumar, and Ankit Kumar. The protests against alleged irregularities in recruitment exams in Jharkhand have now entered their 14th day.

Currently, six protesters are on a hunger strike, while two student organizations marched to the assembly on Friday. The new list was submitted after objections were raised regarding the inclusion of a lawyer in the five-member government committee formed to negotiate with the students, led by the state's Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar. This decision to engage in talks came a day after Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the government is open to discussions with the protesting students.

Sudivya Kumar told reporters outside the assembly that this movement belongs to the students, and the government is ready to engage with them. He added that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the coaching mafia in Jharkhand attempts to take control of the protests, the government will not allow it.
