Incident at PM Shri Maharani Lakshmibai Girls School

In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, a tenth-grade student was injured when plaster from the ceiling collapsed. An official provided this information on Saturday.


District Education Officer N.K. Ahirwar informed that the incident occurred on Friday at the PM Shri Maharani Lakshmibai Girls School located in Barkheda.


Ahirwar stated, 'The girl received three stitches on her head and has since been discharged from the hospital. I learned about this incident this afternoon because the school principal did not inform me yesterday.'


A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing a teacher and other students fleeing as the ceiling plaster fell.


To implement the National Education Policy 2020, the central government launched the PM Shri School program on September 7, 2022. Ahirwar mentioned that there are seven such schools in Bhopal district.


He added, 'I had instructed that classes should not be held in rooms that are weak or damaged due to rain.'
