Introduction to 'Harit Vasudha'

A new environmental initiative named ‘Harit Vasudha’ has been introduced at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University (CSK HPKV) in Palampur. This student-led program is designed to enhance environmental cleanliness, raise awareness, and promote sustainable development on campus.


Focus and Activities

‘Harit Vasudha’ is entirely managed by students, emphasizing daily cleanliness efforts and environmental awareness campaigns. The initiative empowers students to actively participate in maintaining a clean and green campus while fostering a sense of environmental stewardship and collective involvement among their peers.


Team Structure

Currently, a group of 16 student leaders oversees the initiative, supported by approximately 40 engaged student members and senior mentors. All participants are voluntarily dedicating their time to activities aimed at environmental protection and campus upkeep.


Academic Support

While the initiative is fully student-led, it benefits from academic support provided by faculty members, ensuring that it aligns with the university's educational and environmental objectives.


Future Plans

Ankit Kaudal, the founder and student advisor, expressed that the main goal of ‘Harit Vasudha’ is to engage students in environmental responsibility in their everyday lives. He mentioned aspirations to further develop and expand the initiative to align with long-term environmental conservation and sustainable development goals.


Student Engagement

Aditya Thakur, a student member, shared that many students are voluntarily joining the initiative and are eager to contribute to a cleaner campus and enhanced environmental awareness.
