Student Abducted and Assaulted in Rampur District

In Rampur district, a third-year B.Sc. student was reportedly kidnapped by his friends, who brutally assaulted him and severed fingers from his left hand, as revealed by police on Thursday.
Details of the Abduction
According to police reports, a familiar acquaintance lured Vaibhav, a student from Hiralal Inter College, to a roadside eatery on the Moradabad-Rampur highway. There, five of his friends forcibly placed him in a vehicle, blindfolded him, and transported him to a secluded area near Rampur.
Brutal Assault
Authorities stated that the assailants allegedly tied Vaibhav to a tree, subjected him to severe beating, and then used a sharp knife to cut off his left-hand fingers, leading to significant blood loss and causing him to lose consciousness.
Family's Concern
When Vaibhav did not return home by Wednesday night, his worried father reached out to his friends. One of them disclosed that a person named Sunny had summoned Vaibhav for a meeting.
Police Action
Upon questioning, Sunny allegedly confirmed the meeting. The injured student was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Based on a complaint filed by Vaibhav's father, police registered a case against five identified individuals and initiated a search operation to locate the suspects.
