Strong Performance by Indian Golfers at PIF London Championship

Promising Start for Indian Golfers

Pranavi Urs and Aditi Ashok kicked off their campaigns at the PIF London Championship with impressive rounds of 2-under 71, keeping them in close contention after the first round at the par-73 Centurion Club. They trail Canada's Anna Huang, who leads with an outstanding 6-under 67.

Pranavi had a quick start, reaching 2-under after just four holes but later dropped those shots. After five consecutive pars, she finished strong with three birdies and one bogey in her last six holes, concluding her round with a score of 71.

Aditi also began on the back nine, showcasing a solid performance with three birdies and a single bogey. She finished her round with two birdies in the last four holes, matching Pranavi's score and remaining in the hunt for the next round.

Challenging Day for Other Indian Players

The other two Indian participants faced a tougher challenge. Diksha Dagar started with a birdie but fell back with bogeys on the next two holes and another before the turn. She managed to recover with two birdies and two bogeys on the back nine, finishing with a score of 2-over 75, placing her tied for 54th.

Avani Prashanth struggled significantly, ending her round with a 6-over 79, which left her tied for 101st and needing a strong performance in the second round to have a chance at making the cut.

Huang Leads; Spitz and Bennett Close Behind

Huang, a three-time winner on the Ladies European Tour, began her round on the 10th tee, scoring birdies on the 13th and 16th before making an eagle on the 18th. Her only mistake was a bogey on the third hole, but she quickly bounced back with birdies on the fifth and sixth, finishing at six-under.

Australia's Kelsey Bennett and Austria's Emma Spitz are tied for second place at 5-under 68. Spitz's round was particularly exciting, featuring nine birdies and two double bogeys. Bennett started strong with a birdie and added more on the seventh, ninth, 12th, and 13th, but a bogey on the 16th momentarily halted her progress before she birdied the final hole.

England's Charlotte Heath stands alone in fourth place at 4-under 69, with a round that included an eagle, five birdies, and three bogeys. A group of seven players is tied for fifth at 3-under, including Sweden's Louise Rydqvist, Singapore's Shannon Tan, Germany's Olivia Cowan and Aline Krauter, Italy's Alessia Nobilio and Anna Zanusso, and Ireland's Aine Donegan.

Clews Achieves Memorable Hole-in-One

A standout moment came from England's Gemma Clews, who celebrated her first professional hole-in-one on the par-3 17th.
