New Delhi: The momentum in India-US relations remains strong, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who made this statement following his discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.


During his visit to New Delhi, Rubio expressed confidence, stating, "The relationship between India and the US is not losing momentum; it will emerge even stronger in the years ahead."


He also expressed optimism regarding the long-awaited trade agreement between the two nations, noting that both countries are "strategically aligned" on nearly all significant global matters.


Post-meeting, Jaishankar emphasized India's stance on ensuring "unimpeded" maritime trade amidst ongoing discussions about the West Asia conflict.


"We covered various topics, including the situations in West Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and East Asia," Jaishankar remarked.


Additionally, he highlighted discussions on civil nuclear collaboration, stating, "Secretary Rubio and I acknowledged the recent advancements in cooperation between India and the US in the energy sector."
