Diplomatic Discussions in Abu Dhabi

Significant diplomatic developments have emerged from Abu Dhabi, where discussions focused on enhancing the relationship between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On Sunday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi to address several key issues.




During this meeting, Jaishankar expressed gratitude to the President for ensuring the safety and welfare of the Indian community residing in the UAE amidst the recent tensions in West Asia. He also conveyed best wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.




It is noteworthy that the strategic partnership between India and the UAE has significantly strengthened over the past few years. In this context, both leaders discussed ways to deepen this partnership further. Jaishankar emphasized that under the guidance of UAE leadership, the bilateral relations would continue to grow stronger.




During his visit, Jaishankar also met with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, where he praised the UAE government's support and security arrangements for the Indian community, particularly in Dubai.




Additionally, he engaged in discussions with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. Their conversation revolved around regional conditions and their broader implications, making it a crucial dialogue given the current circumstances.




Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, a large number of Indian nationals work and conduct business in the UAE. Therefore, ensuring their safety and stability remains a priority for the Indian government. In line with this, Jaishankar met with the Indian community to inform them about the government's efforts.




He acknowledged the contributions of the Indian community, highlighting their significant role in the local society even during challenging times. He also commended the UAE government's initiatives to protect their interests.
