Jaipur. On Saturday, September 26, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, will host a one-day seminar titled “Strengthening Industry-Academic Collaboration through the Indian Institute of Metals.” This event aims to bring together academics, industry experts, researchers, and students to discuss various aspects of collaboration between the metal and materials science sectors and educational institutions.

Dr. Komal Kapoor, the Chairperson and CEO of the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and President of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Senior scientists and experts from prominent educational institutions such as BARC, NFC, MNIT Jaipur, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Jodhpur will also be present at the seminar.

This seminar serves as a curtain-raiser for the 80th Annual Technical Meeting (IIM ATM 2026) of the Indian Institute of Metals, scheduled to take place from December 10 to 12, 2026, at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur. This event is recognized as a leading technical conference in the field of materials and metallurgy in the country.

Over 1,500 scientists, engineers, academicians, researchers, industry representatives, and students from India and abroad are expected to participate in the upcoming IIM ATM 2026. The three-day conference will cover a wide range of contemporary and significant topics. The first day will feature an international seminar on materials for sustainable green and nuclear energy applications, followed by the annual technical meeting over the next two days.

With active participation from major industries and medium, large, and small enterprises in Jaipur and surrounding areas, this event is poised to become a crucial national platform for industry-academic dialogue and collaboration.
