Stranded in Georgia: Rajasthan Delegation Appeals for Urgent Evacuation Amid Conflict

Rajasthan Delegation Stuck in Georgia Due to Flight Suspensions
Jaipur: As tensions rise between Iran and Israel, numerous nations have halted international flights, leading to significant disruptions. This situation has left many Indian nationals, including 61 individuals from Rajasthan, stranded overseas. Among them are N.K. Gupta, Chairman of the Mangalam Group, and his spouse, who were part of a delegation attending a professional event in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The group, primarily consisting of Chartered Accountants (CAs) and their families, was in Georgia for a Residential Refresher Course organized by the Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association.
Comprising a total of 65 members, the delegation included 29 CAs along with their families. They had departed from Jaipur on June 8, with 60 participants from Jaipur and one CA each from Jaisalmer and Kota, accompanied by their spouses and children.
Among those affected is CA Bhavik Bhatia from Jaisalmer, who, along with his wife and child, has publicly appealed for government assistance through a video message from Georgia.
Bhavik has also reached out via Twitter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, and other officials, urgently requesting help.
While Georgia is not currently experiencing a war-like situation, the group is understandably anxious due to the ongoing geopolitical tensions and the suspension of flights.
Initially, they were set to return to Jaipur via Sharjah on June 13, with their flight scheduled to arrive on June 14 at 4:45 AM.
However, the suspension of flight operations due to the conflict has left all 61 individuals from Rajasthan stranded in Georgia.
Ratan Goyal, President of the Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association, confirmed the situation to the media and urged both the Indian government and state authorities to take action to ensure the safe return of all members.
He noted that while everyone is currently safe and housed in a hotel, there is a growing urgency to return home due to the escalating regional conflict.
Meanwhile, Bhavik’s father, Pramod Bhatia, has expressed deep concern and is calling on the government to facilitate the swift evacuation of his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.
The presence of prominent individuals like CA N.K. Gupta among the stranded further underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need for immediate diplomatic efforts.
