In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) from Kangra apprehended three suspects in the Raja Ka Bagh area of Police District Nurpur. The arrests occurred near the Himfed warehouse along the National Highway, following a tip-off received during routine patrols.
Details of the Incident: On June 9, 2026, law enforcement officials intercepted three individuals and discovered heroin hidden inside a cigarette box located in their bag.
Identities of the Arrested:
- Shamsher Singh alias Chunna (36), son of Mohinder Singh, hailing from Kandwal, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
- Gaurav Samkaria alias Goru (26), son of Ishwar Singh, a resident of Thehar village, Post Office Kukher, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
- Mandeep Singh alias Goldy (35), son of Major Singh, residing at House No. 136, East Park, Guru Ramdas Avenue, Sher Singh Colony, Jalandhar, Punjab.
A case has been filed under FIR No. 147/2026 at the Nurpur Police Station, invoking Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. The confiscated drugs have been secured and are now in police custody, with all necessary legal procedures completed at the scene.
Future Actions: The three suspects remain in custody as investigations continue to identify the origin of the narcotics and to uncover further connections within the trafficking network.
