Stephen Fleming Parts Ways with Chennai Super Kings After 18 Years
End of an Era for CSK and Stephen Fleming
Stephen Fleming's long-standing relationship with Chennai Super Kings has officially concluded, following a mutual agreement between the franchise and the head coach to separate.
This decision came after a series of candid discussions between Fleming and the management team at CSK.
Fleming initially joined CSK as a player during the inaugural IPL season in 2008 and transitioned to head coach the following year. Over his tenure from 2009 to 2026, he developed a close partnership with MS Dhoni, leading the team to remarkable success, including five IPL championships and two Champions League T20 titles.

Under Fleming's guidance, CSK made it to the playoffs an impressive 12 times and reached the finals on 10 occasions. Their last championship victory was in the 2023 season, but the team faced challenges in subsequent years, finishing fifth in 2024, last in 2025, and eighth in 2026.
