State-Level Review Meeting Enhances Cooperative Consumer Stores in Rajasthan

Strengthening Cooperative Consumer Stores
Jaipur. In a recent state-level monthly review meeting, Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary of the Cooperative Department, instructed all General Managers to ensure the implementation of state government schemes according to departmental standards, aiming to maximize benefits for consumers. He announced that the department will rank all district cooperative consumer wholesale stores based on nine criteria each month, with the best stores receiving recognition at the end of the year.
Dr. Sharma explained that under the RGHS scheme, stores will earn 15 points based on their success in providing quality medicines, affordable generic drugs to the public, and availability of medicines and surgical items through Prime Minister's Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Additionally, 5 points will be awarded for consumer goods and grains business, accounting and auditing of the committee's business, and disposal of unusable assets.
He further detailed that points would also be allocated for organizing meetings and general assemblies according to the board's bylaws, as well as for increasing turnover and profits. Points will be given for maintaining office records and disposing of old records, and for diversifying business and adopting innovations to enhance store income.
During the review meeting, Dr. Sharma announced the monthly rankings based on departmental standards, highlighting that Ajmer, Bikaner, Kota, Udaipur, Barmer, Bharatpur, Jodhpur, ConFed Jaipur, Byawar, and Hanumangarh performed excellently. He urged the General Managers of all other district stores to adapt their working styles according to departmental standards and improve in areas where they are lagging to achieve better rankings in the next monthly review.
Dr. Sharma noted that 10 district stores were classified as excellent, 7 as very good, 8 as good, 7 as satisfactory, and 2 as unsatisfactory. He emphasized the importance of ensuring timely attendance of staff at the workplace and providing a wide range of products according to consumer demand.
