During a review meeting on departmental activities, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary emphasized the need for effective promotion of this ambitious initiative. He also instructed that any misinformation or rumors should be promptly addressed.
Focus on 15 Key Themes for a Developed Bihar
Minister Chaudhary reviewed various promotional channels used by the department. He stated that the IPRD is actively communicating the government's policies, programs, and achievements through print, electronic media, radio, digital platforms (including Facebook, YouTube, X, and Instagram), outdoor hoardings, flex banners, chatbots, and influencers. The department will particularly focus on 15 key themes, including job creation, law and order, tourism, women's empowerment, police modernization, urban development, industrial growth, climate change, infrastructure, social security, education, agriculture, health, and sports. The review highlighted the department's swift action against misinformation and its crucial role in maintaining peace, order, and social harmony. Feedback from the public is collected through various channels and conveyed to the government.
Key Initiatives of the Information and Public Relations Department
The department's operations prominently feature regional publicity plans, special integrated schemes, tribal area sub-schemes, the Bihar State Journalist Honor Pension Scheme, the Bihar State Journalist Insurance Scheme, the Bihar Diary-Calendar publication, state information center operations, outdoor publicity, and the certification and welfare of journalists.
Public Relations Officers Appointed Across Departments
During the review, it was noted that public relations officers have been appointed in all state departments to enhance communication. These officers are actively ensuring that accurate information about government schemes reaches the public. Regular press briefings are being conducted to ensure factual dissemination of government information. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Secretary Anupam Kumar, Director Anil Kumar, Additional Secretary Rajiv Kumar Singh, Vidyabhushan Chaudhary, Joint Director Ravi Bhushan Sahay, and Special Task Officer Kumaril Satyanand.
