The 33rd District Srinagar Badminton Championship for the 2026–27 season is currently taking place at the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar. This event gathers talented badminton players from various schools throughout the district. Organized by the District Srinagar Badminton Association in partnership with the J&K Badminton Association and under the auspices of the J&K Sports Council, the championship serves as a vital platform for school-level athletes to showcase their skills and competitive spirit.

Uzair Kachroo, the organizing secretary, emphasized the importance of this championship in providing young athletes with opportunities to advance to state and national competitions. He stated, "This championship is a foundational platform for our children, allowing them to progress from district to state and then to national levels." Another young player, Ahmad Shamin, shared, "The experience is very beneficial, regardless of winning or losing. The coaches here are supportive, helping us improve our skills."


Abharahim, another participant, emphasized the need for more tournaments to encourage youth participation in sports, saying, "Such championships should be organized everywhere to foster children's involvement in sports."
