Una: From June 23 to 29, 2025, Gondpur will host a week-long Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran Katha, led by Dr. Aastha Agnihotri, the daughter of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. This event, taking place at the Community Centre opposite Centre Point, is dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Simmi Agnihotri and aims to promote spiritual growth within the community.

The daily sessions will run from 10 AM to 2 PM, guided by Swami Rajendra Das Devacharya Ji Maharaj, a prominent disciple in the Anant Vibhushit Srimad Jagatguru lineage. The Katha will commence with a Kalash Yatra at 9 AM on June 23, followed by Shri Ganapati Navgrah Thakur Puja at 8 AM each morning, which is believed to invite divine blessings.

Dr. Aastha, who is also an academic, has infused this event with a sense of healing, drawing from her personal loss. Her mother, Professor Simmi Agnihotri, a well-respected educator, passed away in February 2024. Previously, Dr. Aastha honored her mother through spiritual journeys, including a pilgrimage to the Mata Chintpurni shrine with her father.

“This Katha is a means to keep my mother’s spirit alive,” Dr. Aastha shared. “We aim to foster a spiritually enriching atmosphere where families can find inner tranquility.” She noted that the event is inclusive, offering bhandara and mahaprasad daily, with a Purna Aahuti concluding the gathering on June 29.
